12.11.10

This week we talked about our Electricity Homework Challenge.
Thanks to Mums, Dads, Grandads and Grandmas who helped to make this challenge such a success.

Here are a few examples of the Electrifying homework!

This week we also had our school Book Fair.
We were really excited as we had a chance to go and look at the books with
our friends. We saw some lovely books we would like in our classroom.

In Literacy we watched a video about Poppy Day
- with no sound and then with the sound and no picture.
We made notes as we listened to the video.
First of all we listened for significant dates and then wrote down
what the dates were for.
We chose the headings for our information and then wrote our facts
on poppies. We had a circle and discussed what we did and celebrated
what a success our work was and what we had learnt about Poppy Day.
Year 6 brought poppies to our class during Poppy Week.

In Science our challenge was to make a simple circuit to light up the bulb. We had to work with our partners as we had to help each other to connect the wire
to the bulb. We then found out which materials are conductors and make a switch for our circuit. We really enjoyed the challenge. Next week we are making Drawbots!

What a week!

The Visit to The Matthew
Well what a fantastic ending to a brilliant term.
We all had thumbs up on Friday as we all enjoyed our Topic and we all
discussed all the highlights of the term. We are looking forward to
sharing our celebration assembly with you next term.
Our trip to the Matthew was well worth waiting for.
The weather was perfect and so we set off sailing down the harbour.
We sang our sea shanties to say thank you to the sailors on board.
We all learnt how John Cabot sailed the ship to Newfoundland with
twenty men on board. We were shown how to steer the ship and how to
navigate. We had a fantastic time, although we had one seasick sailor!
Well done Year 3 you behaved like real sailors!

a happy ending!
We really enjoyed the story and the music.

In assembly the Vicar came and talked about
Harvest and Celso Pacco played some music.

We drew a pizza and the vicar told us how
many miles the ingredients for a pizza
